FIREFIGHTERS hosed down cars in Wotton-under-Edge for a national charity car wash.

Almost 100 cars passed through Wotton Fire Station on Saturday, March 8 as the team put their hoses to use to raise fund for The Fire Fighters Charity.

The charity was set up in 1943 to help wounded fire fighters and provide support to their families during World War II.

Since then it has worked to support members members of the fire and rescue community, including families.

The National Car Wash is the charity's largest national fundraising event of the year,

The sun shone as the team at the Symn Lane station worked hard polishing people's vehicles.

Altogether £750 was raised for the charity and the Wotton firefighters would like to thank the local residents for their continued support and generosity.
