Delays expected as roadworks start on M4, M5 and M32

A SERIES of works are being planned for the M4, M5, and M32 in the following weeks and motorists are being warned about possible delays.

There are planned roadworks in Bath, Bristol, Gloucestershire, Somerset and Wiltshire as follows:

Bristol

  • M32 between Junctions 1 and 2: Structural repairs and resurfacing The southbound carriageway between Junctions 1 and 2 will be closed overnight from Monday 24 March 8pm until Saturday 29 March 6am . Diversion will be clearly signposted.
  • The southbound carriageway at junction 1 will be closed overnight from Wednesday 19 March until Monday 24 March between 8pm and 6am the following morning. Diversion will be clearly signposted.
  • The northbound carriageway between Junctions 1and 2 will be closed overnight on Thursday 27 March and Friday 28 March between 8pm and 6am the following morning. Diversion will be clearly signposted.

Gloucestershire

  • M5 Junction 11a – Junction 12: Bridge repairs From Monday 24 March, narrow lanes with a width restriction of 5 metres, contraflows and speed restrictions will be in place during the day and occasional slip road and full carriageway closures will take place overnight. Work is expected to continue until June 2015.
  • The southbound carriageway between Junctions 11a and 12 including the southbound entry slip road at Junction 11a will be closed overnight on Friday 28 March from 8pm until 6am the following morning.
  • The northbound carriageway between Junctions 12 and 11a including the northbound entry slip road at Junction 12 will be closed overnight on Saturday 29 March from 8pm until 6am the following morning.
  • M5 between Junction 11 – 10 northbound and southbound: Bridge repairs From 24 March, narrow lanes will be in place on both the northbound and southbound carriageways Work is expected to continue until May 2015.
  • A40 Huntley Bends west of Gloucester: Utility works Both carriageways of the A40 at Huntley Bends will be closed daily from 7am to 7pm on Monday 17 March and are expected to remain closed until the end of March (No weekend closures). Diversions will be clearly signposted.
  • Banes (Bath and North East Somerset) A46 Hartley Bends between Bath and Cold Aston: Signage and resurfacing Both carriageways will be closed overnight from Friday 28 March until Wednesday 9 April between 8pm and 6am the following morning (No weekend closures). Diversions will be clearly signposted.

Wiltshire

  • M4 Junction 18: Resurfacing The westbound exit slip road will be closed overnight on Thursday 27 March form 8pm until 6am the following morning. Diversions will be clearly signposted.
  • A36 between Stoford to Chilhampton: Drainage and resurfacing Both carriageways of the A36 will be closed overnight from Monday 24 March until Saturday 5 April between 8pm and 6am the following morning. Diversions will be clearly signposted.
  • A36 Thoulston: Resurfacing Both carriageways of the A36 will be closed overnight from Thursday 27 March until Saturday 29 March between 8pm and 6am the following morning. Diversions will be clearly signposted.

Somerset

  • M5 Junction 23: Resurfacing The southbound entry slip road will be closed from 6pm on Wednesday 26 March until 6am the following morning. Diversion will be clearly signposted.
  • M5 Junction 25: Resurfacing The northbound carriageway will be closed overnight from 8pm Monday 24 March until 6am the following morning. Diversion will be clearly signposted.
