A MAN was hit in the face as he was driving through Stroud and police are appealing for information.

A 29-year-old man from the area was driving along Home Orchard, Ebley at around 7.40pm on Tuesday March 18 when he stopped to wait for a silver Vauxhall Astra or Vectra estate car parked on the left-hand-side to move.

He could not pass the car as the road was too narrow.

After the man had passed the car he saw another man, believed to be the driver of the Vauxhall run towards him. He swore at the man in the car before hitting him injuring his cheek and eye.

The victim was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital for treatment.

The offender is described as white, male, around 6 feet tall and in his 20s.

He was wearing a dark coloured baseball cap, a navy blue coloured zip-up hooded top, dark coloured jeans and white trainers. He had an accent described as not from Gloucestershire.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Gloucestershire Police on 101, quoting incident number 429 of March 18.
