A MAN was assaulted by two other men following a late-night incident in the Winterbourne area and police are appealing for information.

Police were called to reports of a disturbance in the smoking area at the back of the George and Dragon public house in High Street, between 10.15-11.45pm on Friday, March 21.

A man was assaulted by two other men and suffered a head injury and a cut to his lip, which required hospital treatment.

Both suspects have been interviewed by police and one has been arrested on suspicion of assault and released on police bail, pending further enquiries.

Avon and Somerset police are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident and may have information to help with their enquiries.
