A TEENAGE girl assaulted in Cheltenham three days ago has died in hospital.
Kayleigh Palmer, 16, was found severely injured at a house in Humber Road by emergency services on Wednesday.
She was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, where she was in an induced coma and critical condition.
She died at around 11am on Saturday, April 5.
Aston Robinson, 18 and from Cheltenham, appeared at Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court on Friday charged with attempted murder.
He did not enter a plea to the charge and was remanded in custody. He is due to appear at Gloucester Crown Court on May 9.
A police spokesman confirmed they had been in touch with Miss Palmer, saying: "As is standard practice where there has been previous contact between police and the victim, Gloucestershire Police has referred itself to the Independent Police Complaints Commission."
