CHILDREN at Crossways Infant School in Thornbury had a fine rhyme time when they performed a musical for their families.
The four and five-year-olds in the reception class had been discovering about rhyme in their lessons and put what they had learnt into practice when they staged The Crossways Jolly Post Person.
Written by reception class teacher Jenny Miller, the story followed the post lady on her rounds as she delivered invitations to her birthday party to characters from favourite nursery rhymes.
The pupils dressed up as the characters and sang the rhymes during three performances - one for children in Crossways Junior School and two for parents and grandparents.
