TWO of the stars of the BBC’s Antiques Road Trip paid a visit to Stroud Auction Rooms on Thursday to film footage for the next series of the popular show.

Presenters Margie Cooper and Paul Laidlaw arrived in a vintage Alfa Romeo for the programme’s latest visit to the area. Stroud Auction Rooms has played host to the cameras in four previous series, including the celebrity edition last year.

Lyn Bowkett, from the Auction Rooms, said: “They arrived early and did lots of filming in the car, before moving inside and talking to the auctioneer. Each presenter put five lots in the auction, and this time they had given us some notice so we were able to put the items in the catalogue.

“This was the fifth time they visited us, and we have found that they prefer business as usual - we carry on as normal and ignore them. They seemed pretty pleased with what they had done and are coming back in September.”

Now Lyn and the rest of the Auction Rooms staff are looking forward to seeing the programme on television. “They normally let us know when it is going to be shown, and we’ll record it so everyone gets chance to see the show,” added Lyn.
