A CONCERT by some of Dursley’s most talented young musicians was held to boost the coffers of the up and coming Dursley Youth Centre.
The well-attended event at the Dursley Tabernacle United Reformed Church saw 25 young musicians perform a program of music from Pink Floyd to Purcell.
The teenagers performed to raise funds for the youth centre currently under constructing and generated £417.90 in donations.
Dursley Town Council clerk, Helen Bojaniwska, said it was a delightful evening of quality music making for a brilliant cause.
“The hugely successful concert gave the young people a platform to show off their awesome talents to the audience,” she said.
“The town has such a wealth of creativity with many of the young people expertly performing their own compositions.”
The ground floor of the Parsonage at Dursley Tabernacle Church is currently being converted into a multi-use centre for children aged 11 to 19.
Estimated to cost £223,000, Dursley Town Council is funding the conversion works along with £107,000 from Sainsbury’s, as part of their agreement when they built the supermarket in Castle Street.
