DOG walkers are being urged to be vigilant after two pets are believed to have been pinched during a walk with their owner.
The owner lost sight of her black and white pedigree English pointers in King Charles Lane in Slad. She then heard one of the dogs bark and an engine running.
The barking became muffled and as the vehicle drove off barking became quieter.
One of the dogs was later found near King Charles Lane and the other was found on Steambridge Lane after 45 minutes of searching.
The incident happened on Sunday, April 6 between 3.30pm and 3.45pm.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on telephone number 101 quoting incident 269 of April 6.
