FIVE men including one from Yate have been given Football Banning Orders (FBO) totalling 20 years after disorder at a Bristol derby.

The FBOs were issued at Bristol Crown Court on Thursday, April 17.

They follow a police investigation into the disturbances on September 4 last year when Bristol City and Bristol Rovers played in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy match.

There was disorder before, during and after the game.

Thomas Burke, 20, of Bredon in Yate, was given a 15-month jail sentence, suspended for two years after admitting violent disorder. He was also ordered to carry out 200 hours unpaid work and given a three-year football banning order.

Alex Parsons, aged 20, of Walnut Close in Coalpit Heath, admitted violent disorder and was handed a 16-month jail sentence, suspended for two years. He was also ordered to complete 200 hours of unpaid work and was given a three-year football banning order.

Jordan Lloyd, aged 22, of Filton Avenue, Filton, admitted violent disorder and was given an 18-month jail sentence, suspended for two years. He was also ordered to complete 200 hours unpaid work. He had previously admitted a public order offence for which there was no further sentence. However, he was issued with a three-year football banning order.

Lee Cousins, aged 40 of Soundwell Road, Bristol, admitted violent disorder and was given a two-year jail sentence, suspended for two years and ordered to complete 300 hours of unpaid work. Additionally he was given a five-year football banning order.

James Bagnall, aged 25, of Shickle Grove, Bath, admitted violent disorder, including assaulting a police officer. He was jailed for 18 months. Additionally he admitted affray for throwing a seat into the crowd and was jailed for a further 12 months. He was given a six-year football banning order.
