FIREFIGHTERS were called to a derelict house in Winterbourne last night where a fire is believed to have been started deliberately.
The blaze had taken hold in the detached house on Down Road at 6.20pm.
One crew from Yate and one from Patchway attended the scene and two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the property and extinguished the blaze using a high pressure hose reel.
Avon Fire and Rescue Service spokesman Stephanie Mounsey said: “No-one was inside the house at the time and no-one was hurt.
“It is believed to have been started deliberately.”
