A 20-YEAR-old Cam man's trial on a serious wounding charge could not get under way yesterday because there were not enough jurors.

Christopher Perrett of Stonelea, West Cam, is accused of inflicting life changing injuries on Liam Malone by punching him to the ground in Cheltenham, Glos, on 2nd June last year.

His trial on a charge of inflicting grievous bodily harm was scheduled to begin at Gloucester crown court but a panel of only 13 jurors was available - and one of them knew him.

Judge William Hart was forced to adjourn the case till today when more jurors will be available.

He explained to the panel that he could not go ahead because the law requires a jury to be selected by ballot from more than 12 people.
