A MAN has been charged with owning a dog which worried sheep.

Gary Clift, aged 55, of Lye Farm, Uley, is charged with being the owner of a dog which was worrying livestock.

The offences are alleged to have occurred on December 8 and 10 last year when his dog allegedly scared livestock on land at Bowcott Farm, Whiteway Hill, Dursley and and Whiteways Holdings, Whiteway Hill, Dursley.

Clift was due to appear at Stroud Magistrates Court this morning, Wednesday.

The court heard he had pleaded not guilty by post and the case was adjourned for a trial.
