THE Badminton Estate will again play host to a charity walk in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care this summer.

The Walk Ten event, a 10k walk through the Duke of Beaufort’s sprawling gardens and deer park, will take place on Saturday, July 26 (6.30pm).

Participants and supporters are encouraged to pack a picnic and come to the estate to enjoy a day out with friends and family. There will also be entertainment, live music and a fireworks display and a chance to spot some of the wildlife which roam the grounds of Badminton House.

Delanwy Arthur, fundraiser for Bristol, Bath and Wiltshire at Marie Curie, said: “Walk Ten is a unique event that gives people the chance to enjoy a summer evening with family and friends and walk in beautiful surroundings, followed by a festival atmosphere with activities for all ages.

“By signing up for Walk Ten at Badminton Estate and raising funds you’ll be helping to make it possible for Marie Curie to provide more care to terminally ill patients, and vital emotional support to their families, at the time when they need it most.”

Registration costs £10 per person in advance, children under 16 go free and on the night adult registration is £20. Everyone is asked to raise as much as possible in support of Marie Curie prior to the event through sponsorship and donations.

All the funds raised will help Marie Curie provide care, free of charge, to terminally ill people in their own homes.
