POLICE are searching for two men who have absconded from HMP Leyhill in the past fortnight.
Ruben Smith, 30, was sentenced to five years and four months in prison last June for dwelling burglary and possession of an offensive weapon.
He was last seen at 8.30pm on Wednesday (June 18).
He is described as a white man with a shaved head, oval face and medium build and with the name Emily tattooed on his upper right arm. He has family in the Thames Valley area and he may try to return there.
On Saturday, June 7, Kevin Gilbert also absconded.
He was sentenced to five years and four months in prison for possession of a Class A controlled drug.
Gilbert, who was last seen at 4.55pm, is a white man with short, brown, spiky hair and various tattoos on his neck, arms and hands. He has family in the Gloucestershire area and may try to return there.
A poliec spokesman said: "Neither man is considered a danger to the public but we’re keen to locate these men and return them to prison as soon as possible.
"Anyone who knows where either of these men currently is should contact Avon and Somerset police immediately on 999 . If you’ve seen them since they went missing call us on our non-emergency number 101."
