WEST Country favourites The Wurzels will be among the performers at the Marlwood Music Festival in Alveston.

The outdoor concert at Marlwood School will also feature cover bands The Bipolar Bears and Delorians, street dancers Release and young Bristol singer-songwriter Alannah Jackson.

Other acts at the event on Thursday, July 10, include semi-professional performers and local talented amateurs.

The festival runs from 4.30pm-9pm and proceeds will help fund various projects for the school, such as improving wifi and internet provision.

Volunteers from the Friends of Marlwood have organised the event, which will also include children's games, a bouncy castle and barbecue.

Tickets bought in advance cost £8 for adults, £5 for children or £20 for a family.

Further information is available on the Friends of Marlwood section of the school website - www.marlwood.com - but the group will also be running a stall at Thornbury carnival on July 5.
