CHILDREN and young adults are being asked for their views and experiences of some NHS services in South Gloucestershire.

Health and council bosses want to hear from those who currently use - or have recently used - local children's community health services in the district.

Child and adolescent mental health services, school nursing, speech and language therapy, substance misuse, physiotherapy and health visiting are among the services which the South Gloucestershire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and South Gloucestershire Council want to know about .

The current contracts for those kind of children’s community health services are due to expire in March 2016 and a formal procurement process will begin later this year.

Dr Kate Mansfield, the children and maternity lead at the CCG, said: “We want to ensure we have the best possible services in place for children who need them.

“Those currently accessing local children’s community health services, or who have used them in recent years, are perfectly placed to feed back to us and help ensure that future generations benefit from the best possible treatment and care in South Gloucestershire.

“We want to know what is working well and where improvements could be made."

Dr Mansfield said the information given would help influence decisions on how such services will be provided in future.

An online survey is available and can be completed in confidence. It can be found at www.surveymonkey.com/s/CCGyoungpeople until July 21.

More than 100 parents and carers have already provided feedback in a separate survey for adults. that can be found at www.surveymonkey.com/s/RGY7R9W and is also open until July 21.
