A NEW date has been set for essential work on the Second Severn Crossing after predicted bad weather forced postponement of the project.
Two lanes of the westbound carriageway had been scheduled for closure last weekend so waterproofing and resurfacing could be carried out.
But with rain forecast, it was decided to delay the work for a week, with the lane closures now coming into effect at 10pm tomorrow (Fri, July 4) and lasting until 10am on Sunday, July 6.
One lane will remain open while the work is carried out but delays are expected and if there are hold-ups, drivers will be advised to use the M48 Severn Bridge instead.
