IT IS all change for Cotswold Care Hospice’s charity shop in Wotton-under-Edge as the store undergoes a complete refurbishment.

The store on Long Street has got a brand new floor, decorations, lighting and a new layout to entice customers.

Thanks to the revamp it is now more wheelchair-friendly and has expanded its bric-a-brac section as well as its ladies’ clothing range.

Wotton manager Paula Underwood, who joined the charity three months ago, is delighted with the new look.

“We pride ourselves on providing excellent quality goods at reasonable prices,” she said.

“You can find high street labels here starting at just £2.50 for a top. Now we have a premises which lives up to the quality of donations we sell.

“We’re looking really smart and the customers have commented on how great it looks.”

Every year the hospice’s 14 shops raise almost half of the money needed for the charity to provide its services and is still containing to receive donations.

Former shop volunteer Linda Smith personally knows the value of the services Cotswold Care Hospice provides as she received support when she had breast cancer five years ago.

“Cotswold Care gives you what you need and gives you such a sense of well-being,” she said.

“We are fortunate to have such a wonderful facility.”

Retail operations manager Di Garland, said: “We wanted to increase our profile and to ensure we are looking our best on the high street.

“It is important for us to maintain our competitive edge and raise as much money as we can for the charity.”
