THE Environment Agency concluded yesterday that the Nu-Pro fire will have no significant damaging impact on the factory's surroundings.
Locals voiced fears that the smoke and ash from the blaze could have a devastating affect upon the environment in the areas surrounding the site in London Road, Thrupp.
Environment Agency officers attended the site yesterday, preparing a report on the site and monitoring the River Frome.
A spokesperson from the agency said: "No significant environmental impacts have been seen, but a milky appearance on the watercourse was identified and is related to the fire water runoff.
"We are continuing to assess the situation on site and throughout the clean-up operation."
