THE Great British sports car will be the theme at a family racing day at Castle Coombe later this month.

Bristol Motor Club is holding its annual family day at Castle Combe Circuit on Sunday, July 27 (10am) and is inviting owners of road registered sports, GT and touring cars of all ages and types to take part.

The club wants to fill the paddock with a colourful display of over 200 cars but not all have to be British.

Event co-ordinator Zoe Tooth said cars on display will include everything from a Jaguar XK140 to a modern Aston Martin Vanquish.

“It's not going to be just a static display as there will also be three sessions where people will be able to take to the track for parade laps,” she said. “ “Passengers of all ages are allowed, so the whole family can experience a few laps of the circuit.

“As well as the display cars and track action there will be competitions for all the family. If you don’t fancy driving your car around the circuit then bring the family’s bikes instead and cycle around the track at lunchtime.”

Admission is free, track access costs £14 per car for all three sessions, which must be pre-booked and paid-for in advance. Visit www.bristolmc.org.uk for more details.
