A RECORD number of visitors attended a vets annual open day in Stinchcombe at the weekend.

More than 400 visitors, along with many of their pets, took part in a wide range of activities on offer at Vale Vets on Sunday, July 27.

Numerous prizes were available to win in the dog show and children could enjoy themselves with face painting and two different bouncy castles, donated by Dursley Bouncy Castles.

In addition people could take part in tours of the practice and even had the opportunity for pet owners to dress up as vets and take pictures of themselves in an operating theatre.

Tumpy Green Equestrian Centre brought along two Shetland ponies for rides and there were stalls held by Cotswolds Dogs and Cats Home, Cats Protection, Fourboys Garden Centre, Pet Rehab and Ivy Reptile Parties.

The day, along with a lucky dip of prizes donated by Dursley and Cam businesses, plus refreshments and cakes made by staff, families and friends raised more than £450 for Cotswolds Dogs and Cats Home, near Cam.
