A GOSPEL choir is hoping to ride the choir popularity wave and is looking for new choristers to join them.

The Thornbury Gospel Generation Community Choir (GGCC) is hoping that more people will be inspired to sing as the rise in popularity of choir singing continues.

The Thornbury GGCC choir is run by Emma Smallwood and Heather Staley, Emma said: “Gospel is all about finding hope in hard times, freedom and celebration. These themes resonate with us all which is why it is so powerful.

“Thornbury GGCC is for anyone, it is a lot of fun and no previous experience is required. You don’t need to be able to read music and there are no auditions or membership fee.

“We just ask people to give a donation if they can. So, if you love to sing, want to have fun and meet some new people then come along!”

The Thornbury GGCC choir will begin its autumn term on Tuesday, September 16 at the Thornbury Baptist Church, Gillingstool, BS35 2EG at 6.30pm until 7.45pm
