A STUDENT from Berkeley is one of many from Wycliffe College who have earned their dream spot at university thanks to their excellent A-level grades.

Eighteen-year-old Carrii Elliott , from Woodford, is off to study chemistry at Imperial College in London after achieving an A* in chemistry and two As in maths and physics.

“I’m very pleased that all the hard work has been worth it,” she said.

“I’m so excited to read chemistry at Imperial College London.”

A host of students are following their dream courses at top universities with a third of all grades achieved coming at A or A*.

Headteacher Margie Burnet Ward said it had been a difficult year for results nationally but the said the good results from the Stonehouse school were a testament to the hard work and dedication of pupils and staff.

“As well as a very full extra-curricular life at Wycliffe and outstanding pastoral care producing very contented students, it is great to see academic levels so high too,” she said.
