A GIRLS’ school celebrated a solid performance in this year’s GCSE exams.

Westonbirt School, in Tetbury, achieved 99% A*-E results with all of the 28 girls achieving at least seven pass marks.

Headmistress Natasha Dangerfield was delighted with the results of her students, calling them a reflection of “excellent application.”

Trudi Seager, 16, of Wotton-under-Edge, was in tears after reading that she had received 4.5 A* and 6As.

She said: “It’s all been a bit surreal. I had tiny butterflies this morning. I’ve waited so long for this.”

Headmistress Natasha Dangerfield was thrilled with the school’s accomplishment.

She said: “It isn’t simply about how many As or A*s have been achieved, it is about how well the individual has done in comparison to their potential.

“These grades reflect excellent application and some real turnarounds for some of our girls and we are delighted for them. Westonbirt prides itself on being a non-selective school and these are solid and reflective results.”

The results at Westonbirt matched a nationwide improvement.
