A BUSINESS growth consultancy helped an energy company nab a multi-million pound maintenance contract.

Cool Ventures, based in Yate, helped Gregor Heating, Electrical and Renewable Energy secure a £10 million maintenance contract with Knightstone Housing Association.

The Yate consultancy, which advises owner-managed businesses on their growth strategies and preparing for external investment, helped Gregor write its winning bid for the contract to service and install gas boilers for Knightstone.

Cool Ventures advised the Warmley-based firm of heating engineers, electricians and renewable energy specialists on completing the document which included complex financial projections.

They also helped Gregor secure a £28,000 grant from the West of England Local Enterprise Partnership for an IT system to underpin the new contract.

The five-year maintenance deal follows a competitive re-tendering process by the regional housing provider and involved a rigorous selection process.

Managing director of Gregor Heating, Electrical and Renewable Energy Steve Gregor said: "When bidding for major tenders like this you are dealing with organisations that employ their own procurement teams. For us to compete at that level required specialist support.

"Cool Ventures had the professional knowledge and expertise that we needed to mount a successful bid. They exceeded our expectations and I would have no hesitation in recommending their services."

A director of Cool Ventures Roger Wilkins said: "Bid writing has become a growing part of our specialist business support service and we are delighted to have helped Gregor secure this multi-million pound contract with Knightstone."
