A POLICE helicopter was called in last night (September 16) to help police track down a man who had run away following an arrest attempt in Gloucester Road, Thornbury.
The helicopter was called in at about 6.30pm after police officers had tried to arrest a man, who they believed to be a drug dealer, from his car but he ran away.
A Honda Civic car was left blocking the road for some time as police tried to track the man down.
A police spokesman said that a man was arrested and taken to Southmead police station and has been reported for failing to stop for a police officer and for obstructing.
His car was also seized and he will now have to pay for its return.
