COMMUNITY radio station Thornbury FM is getting more cash from the National Lottery.
The station has received an Awards for All grant of £5,674 towards the cost of its broadcasts over the next two years.
Thornbury FM chairman the Rev David Primrose said: "It will help our local radio station prioritise its efforts to include people from every walk of life, both in its programme production and amongst those who listen in.
"With more than 40 potential presenters, and with 85 percent of the local population knowing about Thornbury FM, the station management is committed to an ethos of increasing inclusivity and diversity."
An earlier start-up grant of £4,326 from Awards from All helped establish the studio whilst a capital grant of £11,574 from South Gloucestershire Council went towards the purchase of equipment.
"Most of the £7,000 required for each four-week broadcast is for the cost of copyright fees and licences," said Mr Primrose. "This regular expenditure is met by local advertising and sponsorship."
Thornbury FM is back on air on Monday, April 23. For further details visit www.thornburyfm.org or contact David Primrose on 01454 413209.
