CROWDS of supporters came to Dursley town centre to help launch the election campaign of Labour candidate David Drew.

The Labour Party opened an office at 10 Silver Street in Dursley on Saturday, November 15.

It was officially opened with Mr Drew, Labour’s parliamentary candidate, cutting a ribbon across the office doorway with Labour Baroness Jean Corston.

“I was very touched by how many people came along to wish my campaign well,” said David Drew.

“It was good to meet up with so many old and new friends. And it’s great to have a base in Dursley. I know it’s not always easy for people to get up to Stroud, so now supporters across Cam, Dursley, Berkeley and Sharpness have somewhere a bit nearer.”

About 40 people turned up for the launch at 10.15am and more continued to arrive during the morning to sign a pledge to support David's campaign and take car stickers, etc.

The Dursley office will be open Mondays to Saturdays from 10am to 1pm for the public to drop in and chat, offer help with organising the campaign - or just to pick up a car sticker or badge.

The office will also be used by Labour Councillors for advice surgeries and for Labour Party meetings.
