UNWANTED green bins will be collected by the council starting from next week.

The green bins will be collected between Monday, December 8 and Friday, December 19 as a one off service for those who want their bins removed.

Bins will be removed from areas in Bradley Stoke, Stoke Gifford, Frenchay, Stoke Park, Winterbourne, Frampton Cotterell, Yate, Dodington, Westerleigh and Chipping Sodbury.

The dates of the green bin removals for the first week are Monday, 8 December 8 in Bradley Stoke South, Tuesday, December 9 in Bradley Stoke north, central and Stoke Lodge, Wednesday December, 10 in Stoke Gifford, Thursday December, 11 in Frenchay and Stoke Park and Friday December, 12 in Winterbourne.

The second week of bin removals will take place on Monday December, 15 in Frampton Cotterell, Tuesday December, 16 in Yate north, Wednesday, December, 17 in Yate central, Thursday, December 18 in Dodington and Friday December, 19 in Westerleigh and Chipping Sodbury.

All green bins for removal must be placed outside by 7am on the scheduled day and must be empty of all waste for South Gloucestershire Council to take away.

The collections are not compulsory and anyone who is using their green bin for another purpose can continue to do so.

Green bins in all other areas will be scheduled for removal early in the New Year.

If you subscribe to the green bin collection service please do not put your bin out on the day of removal in your area.
