THE Berkeley Christmas Fair entertained all with a winter scene of snow and a visit from Father Christmas.

The fair, organised by the Berkeley Community Trust , was held on Saturday, December 13 on the Market Place and Canonbury Street.

Visitors were offered a winter scene with a snow machine and various activities between 4pm and 7pm.

Berkeley councillor Valerie Watts, who was involved in the organising committee, said: “This year’s fair went very well. The weather was perfect, or as perfect as it could be, which was great as we had to cancel the fair last year due to bad weather.

“We have Father Christmas here every year to give out sweets to the children on his sleigh, which we borrowed from the Cattle Country, and the children were all very excited to meet him."

A fun fair amused younger visitors while 15 stalls provided gifts and stocking fillers for Christmas shoppers and refreshments in the form of mulled wine and sausage rolls to celebrate the festivities.

Miss Watts added: “The snow machine was a big hit too with the children, it was lovely to see the families enjoying it and getting some great Christmas photos with all the snow in the background.

"It was well attended and it was a great way to bring the community together.”
