A HGV towing a trailer loaded with hay bails has been in a collision with the central barrier on the southbound carriageway of the M5 between junction 13 Stroud and junction 14 Thornbury.
Following the collision shortly after 10am today, Monday, lane one of the southbound carriageway has been closed temporarily while the motorway is cleared of debris.
An ambulance has attended the scene to give aid to the driver of the HGV who felt unwell prior to the collision.
Delays should be expected.
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 quoting incident number 105 of January 5.
Just after the crash Gloucestershire Road Police tweeted that the lorry had partially lost its load and that emergency services were on their way to the scene.
