PLANS for Chipping Sodbury’s 2015 festival are underway as the annual event returns for its 30th year.

The festival will run from Friday, June 12 to Wednesday, June 21 this year with the chosen theme of musicals to take over the town.

From educational events for schools to live music, the 10-day festival promises numerous activities and entertainment for the whole family.

On Saturday, June 13 there will be ‘An Evening with Tom Hart-Dyke’, the plant hunter who hit the headlines after being kidnapped in the Columbian jungle in 2000.

The festival committee has arranged musical entertainment from ABBA Tribute band ABBA Forever along with the free Music in the Street event, featuring Vegas,a cover band who also performed at last year’s festival.

The annual carnival procession will be take place on Saturday, June 20 which will include floats created by the community.

Cooking classes along with jewellery making and flower arranging will be on offer and over 45 other events will add to the festivities.

Tickets will be available from Wednesday, April 1 from the Chipping Sodbury Post Office and Out Of the Blue.

Delivery of festival programmes will commence at the end of March and will also be available in many stores in the town.
