THE Police and Crime Commissioner's bus was at Dursley with officers on hand to engage with members of the public and offer advice where needed.

The Neighbourhood Engagement Vehicle, affectionately named Nev by the Gloucestershire Police force, travels around the country providing information to communities.

Police community support officer Paul Bowman, who generally drives Nev, was there to give the public support on a range of areas, from home security to issues with speeding motorists.

He said: "It's about being available to the general public. We've had a very good day today, with lots of passing custom.

"People can have a chat outside or go inside and speak about a more serious issue or report something."

The bus was in Castle Street between 10am and 2pm on Friday, January 16.

Nev can be seen visiting many towns around the county and also appearing at various events.
