THE sounds of sibling revelry will fill the Black Book Cafe this Sunday, with the return of Tinkerscuss.
Sisters Bryony and Erin Holden, who have been playing music together for over 40 years, will perform a set of heritage and Celtic based music at the Nelson Street venue, between 2pm and 4pm.
Erin and Bryony first started gigging on the rock and blues scene of the mid 70s and early 80s, playing covers of Free, Led Zeppelin and Joni Mitchell.
But it was when Scottish musician Dick Gaughan introduced the sisters to the world of Celtic folk music that Tinkerscuss really came into being.
The sisters went on to record albums such as Nine Trees, Classic Tinkerscuss and the acclaimed Sandy Denny tribute Across the Purple Sky, which have won them airplay on Radio 2 and Radio 6 Music.
Jeff and Elaine Gillett will also be performing on Sunday afternoon. As Discovery, Jeff and Elaine Gillett will present traditional and modern folk tracks, new interpretations of familiar songs and William Blake’s poems sung to Jeff’s original tunes. The Black Book Café is in the Silver Rooms, on Nelson Street, Stroud.
