AN enormous power cut in Dursley affected thousand of people - but was resolved quickly by the energy company.
The cut, which struck on Tuesday at 9.21pm, saw 2,067 homes lose their power throughout the Dursley area.
Tim Lezard, of Silver Street, said at the time: "Lights are out everywhere and alarms are sounding. There's no obvious reason why."
Within just four minutes engineers for Western Power had managed to restore power to the majority of those affected.
Those living in the surrounding areas may have noticed 'fritting' - a flickering of their power - around this period as workers switched the power supply over to a healthy line.
The power was then completely restored at about 10.17pm.
A spokesperson for Western Power said that engineers detected a fault with an underground cable and are still investigating the issue.
