A DURSLEY woman lost control of her car on ice and swerved into an electricity pole in Wotton-under-Edge.
The incident occurred at around 7.50am on Friday, February 27, when the 55-year-old skidded while driving in Bradley Green.
No other vehicles were involved, though the fire service, ambulance and police all attended the scene.
The pole, which broke in half and came down after being hit, caused a closure of the road until Western Power carried out a repair at 9.15am.
Gazette photographer Stephen Richards who witnessed the scene described the road as being like a "sheet of ice".
This is not the first time that ice has caused trouble on Wotton roads this week.
On Monday, February 23,a pile up on the B4058 near Cotswold Edge Golf Club involved several vehicles resulted in five drivers having to be cut from their cars.
