FOLLOWING their call out to young film makers across the district, members of the MOULD youth art collective are preparing for the Young Filmmaker of the Year awards.
The event will take place at SVA, John Street, on Thursday at 6pm, with the winner being announced at 7.30pm.
“We have been astounded by the wealth of creativity amongst the young people of Stroud," said MOULD member Milo Kester, aged 19.
The collective have been inundated with weird and wonderful entries, from candid documentaries to uplifting animations.
“Now we are working really hard to create an interactive film environment to show the work to its full potential.”
All the entries submitted to the competition will be presented in an interactive evening installation. Films will be presented and projected in all the nooks and crannies of SVA, with the winner being awarded the Young Film Maker of the Year trophy in the secret cinema at the end of the night.
“It is important to us that young artists in Stroud feel that their work is being valued, which is why we put so much effort into hand making the trophy,” said Rosie Holditch, 17.
MOULD is proud to announce that the award will be presented by special mystery guests – an acclaimed filmmaking duo, to be announced later this week.
“Most of all we want people to see the wealth of creativity in Stroud, we are so excited about the event. It’s going to be sensational.”
