A HOUSEBUILDER has supported the Rangeworthy community by donating £500 worth of essential maintenance and repairs to a village hall.
Cotswold Homes Ltd, who are constructing new homes at Waverley grange in New Road, Rangeworthy, have pledged to hand over the donation next month after seeing the maintenance and repairs in need of doing.
Terri Hayes-Pugh, who heads Cotswold Homes’ sales and marketing team, said: “When we heard the hall was short of cash for essential repairs we were pleased to provide assistance with a donation towards the costs involved.
“The King George V Memorial Hall, which opened in 1937 with a message of goodwill from King George VI, was built on donated land and more than half the building cost was covered by donations, so we are happy to continue that tradition.”
The memorial hall chairman, Bryan Quinlan, said: “Countless local people will benefit from Cotswold Homes’ generosity as the hall is used regularly by a variety of organisations.
“ They include the Court Players, WI, Playgroup and Pre-School as well as karate, art and dog-training classes.”
The new homes at Waverley Grange, which will be ready to occupy soon, are finished externally in brick with a contemporary take on traditional architectural details.
