A SCHOOL in Yate has won over £300 worth of sports equipment after succeeding in a national design competition.
Students at Brimsham Green School were awarded with rounders equipment worth over £300 last month after taking part in the Aresson Design Your Ultimate Rounders Bat Schools Competition.
The students designed their own rounders bats as part of the nationwide competition and their winning designs were awarded with the prizes of a combination of the indoor and outdoor kits from Aresson including bats, balls indoor and outdoor post sets, bibs and more.
There were two primary and secondary school winners and two individual winners in total.
Ceri Hayward, head of PE at Brimsham Green School said: “The pupils had a lot of fun creating their bats and were very excited to submit their designs. They cannot wait to try out the new equipment from Aresson.
“It will extend the range of equipment we have at Brimsham Green School and encourage more children to play rounders.”
John Wilkinson, Aresson managing director, said: “We wanted to engage with schools and students to bring rounders to the fore as an accessible and inclusive sport.
“We were overwhelmed by the creativity and the colour used in the designs.
"The students have influenced our product range this year with the introduction of three brightly coloured Vision bats now available.”
