A CHARITY which operates leisure centre sites in Yate and across South Gloucestershire has donated over 200 Easter eggs to fellow charities and foodbanks.

This Easter, Circadian Trust raised over 200 eggs during a 'Donate An Easter Egg' campaign which ran from March 17 to March 31 to deliver them to local charities by Wednesday, April 1 in time for the weekend.

The campaign involved encouraging new people to join the trust by offering the exchange of an Easter egg for a reduced joining fee.

The charities benefitting from the Easter egg donations include North Bristol foodbank, Resound, The Juice Community Project, Thornbury Baptist Church foodbank and Yate and Chipping Sodbury foodbank.

Stewart North, foodbank manager at North Bristol foodbank, said: “We rely on food donations to feed local people in crisis and it is great to see fellow charities supporting our efforts. Circadian Trust has been a great help to many families who would not usually have the pleasure of an Easter Egg.

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank anyone who donated an egg, and we hope it will inspire others to get involved in the future.”

The Circadian Trust operates eight leisure centre sites across South Gloucestershire, including Yate Leisure Centre and Yate Outdoor Sports Complex.

Erica Cross, marketing manager at Circadian Trust, said: “We are delighted with the results of our ‘Donate an Easter Egg’ campaign. We have not only seen over 200 people start a healthier, active lifestyle, but we have also been able to help local families that are struggling to get by.

"Easter is a great time to give something back to the community and we are really proud of our new active members for getting involved and making a difference.”
