A POPULAR fund-raising event will celebrate its 20th year in Chipping Sodbury with live music and a marquee full of real ale and cider barrels for visitors to enjoy.

The Rotary Club of Yate and District organises the annual South Cotswold Beer and Music Festival and this year’s festival will provide for real ale and cider lovers when it returns in July.

Tickets for the successful festival, in which real ale and cider fans gather to enjoy offerings from around the country and enjoy live entertainment, went on sale earlier this month.

David Picton, from the Rotary Club of Yate and District, said: “Organised by Yate Rotary Club and helped by many local volunteers, there will be a huge range of over 90 real ales, as well as a large selection of ciders, perrys and quality wines. Burgers and hot dogs, sourced locally, will be available along with soft drinks and snacks.

“Yate Rotarians have been extremely successful in providing a quality local event and also raising over £200,000 for Rotary charities over the past 19 years from the South Cotswold Beer and Music Festival.

“The beer, cider and wine is served in a huge marquee with the specially selected bands performing on a separate tented stage. Ample free parking and free permit camping is also available on site.”

The festival will take place on the weekend of July 10 at the rugby club at The Ridings.

Tickets, which include a collectable pint beer mug or an elegant half pint beer/wine glass, are £8 for Friday and £14 for Saturday and can be bought from Merediths or from Yate and Chipping Sodbury Information Centre or online at www.bs37.com/beer.
