FIRE crews from Gloucestershire dealt with a blaze in a chimney in just half an hour.
At 5.58pm on yesterday the fire service received a call to a property near Four Oaks, Newent, to reports of a chimney fire.
A crew of five fire fighters from the Newent fire station were mobilised to deal with the incident.
They remained on scene for just over 30 minutes and used chimney rods to clear the chimney.
Due to increased popularity of solid fuel heating, Gloucestershire Fire & Rescue Service attends a significant number of chimney fires every year.
Follow their safety advice at http://www.glosfire.gov.uk/ysafety_h_chimney.html to prevent this from happening in your home.
