MORE than 3,000 residents are being asked to give their views on South Gloucestershire Council’s (SGC) highways and transport services.

A collaboration between the National Highways and Transport (NHT) Network and the South West Highway Service Improvement Group will see 3,300 questionnaires be distributed across the county.

The results will then be compared with other councils across England and published in early October.

Mark King, head of StreetCare and Transport, said: “If you receive the National Highways and Transport Public Satisfaction Survey in the post we would encourage as many people as possible to fill it in.

“Your views about our highways and transport services are important to us and will provide us with a valuable insight into how we are performing and which areas to prioritise, and to improve.

"Last year we performed well on our road safety record, community transport provision, walking and cycling routes and highway maintenance."

The survey is being run for the eighth year and is based on a sample, so residents who receive a copy are being urged to take part between now and the closing date on Friday, August 14.

It is the largest collaboration between local authorities offering the opportunity to compare results, share in best practice and identify further opportunities to work together in the future.
