THE first university technical college in Gloucestershire, South Gloucestershire and Stroud College’s Berkeley Green, has launched a public consultation.
Running until July 22, the consultation offers members of the public, employers and interested young people the opportunity to learn more about the plans and give their feedback.
Prior to opening, UTCs are required to undertake a consultation detailing their plans, admissions arrangements and proposed location.
Berkeley Green UTC, located at Berkeley's old nuclear labs, is planning to open in September 2017.
SGS principal Kevin Hamblin said: "Berkley Green UTC offers young people an exciting opportunity to specialise in either digital technologies or advanced manufacturing with clear progression routes to employment, apprenticeships and higher education.
“Employers will take a leading role in the design and content of the curriculum which will include engaging employer led projects."
More details can be found at the SGS UTC website at berkeleygreen.sgscol.co.uk, which also includes links to the survey
