FIREFIGHTERS were called to a compactor on fire in Cheltenham.
The fire and rescue service was called to a compactor on fire at the Kingsditch end of Swindon Road at 12.20 yesterday afternoon.
Two fire engines from Cheltenham West and East community fire stations with a total of 10 firefighters were on scene.
On arrival, a compactor was found to be well alight and crews used one hostels in breathing apparatus to extinguish the blaze.
The fire was under control by 1pm and the last fire engine left the scene at 2.16pm.
