PEOPLE in Thornbury are being invited to a garden party to celebrate the 21st birthday of the firm building retirement apartments in Thornbury town centre.

Churchill Retirement Living will host the celebration event at its Grace Lodge development next week.

Visitors to the event, which will take place on Wednesday, July 8 from 2pm until 4pm, will enjoy live jazz music and Pimms in the landscaped gardens. There will also be traditional ice cream served from a vintage ice cream bicycle and the opportunity to take a tour of the Grace Lodge Show Complex.

Churchill Retirement Living was founded in 1994 by brothers Spencer and Clinton McCarthy, and the garden party at Grace Lodge is one of many events taking place across the country to mark the special occasion.

Spencer McCarthy, chairman and group managing director for Churchill Retirement Living, said: “I’m very proud that in just 21 years, Churchill Retirement Living has become a nationwide success story. We are now the fastest growing retirement property developer in the UK.

“From just one tiny site in Salisbury in 1994, we now have 36 selling sites and last year alone, we sold 491 apartments (June 2014 – May 2015).

“Our garden party at Grace Lodge is not only an opportunity for people in Thornbury to celebrate with us, but is also a chance for us to say thank you to our owners for choosing Churchill Retirement Living.”
