A MAN from Pilning and woman from Oldbury-on-Severn have been named after being charged with drink driving as part of a police campaign.

For Avon and Somerset Constabulary’s summer road safety campaign, Operation Tonic, the names of all motorists charged with drink or drug driving offences are being released.

In the fourth week of the campaign 21 drivers were charged including Williams Frnacus O’Malley, 24, from Pilning and Ella Rose Dalziel, 21, from Oldbury-on-Severn.

The other drivers charged were:

  • Philip Paul Littlewood, 47, Wiveliscombe, Somerset
  • Nigel Alan Chant, 50, Glastonbury, Somerset
  • Christopher Martin Gilbertson, 58, Minehead, Somerset
  • Christopher John Brodrick, 66, Norton St Philip, Bath
  • Duncan Stuart Briggs, 66, Bridgwater, Somerset
  • Conor James Hill, 20, Ludlow, Shropshire
  • Matthew Prowse, 31, Hythe, Southampton
  • Sean Anthony Tucker, 21, Weston-super- Mare
  • Svajunas Markevicieus, 38,  Hanham, Bristol
  • Gary Leslie Owen, 28, Bilston, West Midlands
  • James Edward Evans, 18, Ludlow, Shropshire
  • Nina Jane Perry,  42,  Congesbury, Bristol
  • Kirsty Marie Dutson, 31, Chepstow, Gwent

So far no motorist has been charged for drug driving, although the police have carried out more than 80 tests using the 'drugalyser' equipment and are awaiting the results of blood tests.
