A FAMILY fun day supporting a children’s charity will be held in Winterbourne Down.

The event has been organised in memory of nine-month-old Theo Cameron who passed away in February 2011 from the rare genetic disorder ARC syndrome.

All money raised at the event will go to charity Jessie May, who supported Theo’s family during his short life and after his death.

His mum Sarah Harttrup, who lives in Winterbourne, said: “It has been important for the family to be able to devote a day to celebrating Theo's short life while supporting a cause that is so close to their heart.

"Jessie May really helped us when Theo was with us and made it possible for us to care for him at home and do things we otherwise wouldn't have been able to in the short time he was with us. They were also incredibly supportive when Theo passed away.

“Jessie May is a wonderful charity and we really appreciate what they do.

"We are so proud that even though Theo was with us a short time he has had such a massive impact on people's lives.

"We would love to see the garden of The Cross Hands packed with people enjoying themselves and supporting a great cause."

The fun day has something for all ages with bands performing, a bouncy castle, face-painting, cake stalls and a chance for young Frozen fans to meet Princess Elsa.

More than £22,000 has already been raised in honour of Theo through four charity walks and last summer's first family fun day event.

There is also a Jessie May memory fund in Theo's name and family and friends also raised £9,000 for the Grand Appeal when the youngster was still a patient at Bristol Children's Hospital.

The event will take place from 1pm to 4pm on Saturday at The Cross Hands pub in Down Road.
