A CHARITY which supports adults with physical disabilities in Coalpit Heath is celebrating its 20th anniversary.
Paul’s Place, the only charity in the South West which specifically supports adults with all physical, cognitive and sensory impairment, is celebrating its birthday tomorrow at Coalpit Heath Cricket Club, where it is based.
The event will see charity members speak about their achievements over the past 20 years with a visit from the chair of South Gloucestershire Council, councillor Erica Williams.
20 balloons will then be released representing each year the services have been provided.
Director of Paul’s Place, Kath Aldom MBE, said: “With many people giving their support over the years and our local community supporting us financially it has helped us become the wonderful charity we are today. We now support over 300 people giving them opportunities to lead a more fulfilled life.
“Everyone works so hard to offer support to disabled adults and their carers. To provide all of the services on offer we need to raise £100,000 per year.
"This is difficult and only achievable by dedicated volunteers who give their time and energy to promote Paul’s Place.
“I am so proud of everyone involved with Paul’s Place and the wonderful achievements we have made.
I would like to take this opportunity of thanking everyone for helping to make my life so special. Lets look forward to the next twenty years.”
The charity runs a day facility at the crick club from Monday to Friday, 10am to 4pm.
